On Earth-22, an emaciated Parasite, whose flesh is showing his musculature, is pursued through Kansas by Magog and his Justice Battalion (between them there was Nightshade II). Parasite, desperate to escape his pursuers, tears through Captain Atom's shell, causing a nuclear explosion that destroyed most of the midwest and kills both he and the Justice Battalion, save Magog and metal-man Alloy.
