Brief Summary

Marville was created because of a publicity stunt between then-Marvel president Bill Jemas, Joe Quesada, and Peter David in a contest called U-Decide, a competition to see who could sell the most issues. Peter David's Captain Marvel series won the contest, and Bill Jemas' contribution was this.

What started as a parody comic, satirizing the current state of the comic book industry as well as Marvel and DC superheroes, shifted gears after the second issue, and became a pseudo-philosophical depiction of God, evolution, and the science vs. religion debate on life.

The series was slated to be a six issue mini-series, but got a 7th issues a months after the initial mini was done. The series was one of Comic Alliance's Top 15 for the worst comics of the decade.
