Continues from Iron Man Vol. 3. This volumes depicts some of the most tremulous times in Iron Man's life. New abilities, new armor, and massive changes to the status quo abound. The series switched names a few times such as The Invincible Iron Man, Iron Man, Iron Man: Director Of S.H.I.E.L.D. and War Machine: Weapon Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Issue 33, 34 and 35 of this series are not counted in the collective Iron Man series, as they are not counted in the original numbering when Iron Man returned to it's original numbering with issue 500 in the next volume (as is seen in the covers gallery of the issue). This series continues into The Invincible Iron Man Vol 1 (with that series, the "invincible" of the cover is also part of the index).
