Saga is an ongoing series and space opera from Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples described as Romeo and Juliet meets Star Wars meets Game of Thrones.

"This is an original fantasy book with no superheroes, two non-white leads and an opening chapter featuring graphic robot sex. I thought we might be cancelled by our third issue." -- Brian K. Vaughan

Awards

In 2013, Saga won three Eisner Awards for Best Writer, Best New Series, and Best Continuing Series. In 2014, it again won three Eisner Awards for Best Writer, Best Continuing Series and Best Painter/Multimedia Artist. In 2015, it won two Eisners for Best Continuing Series and Best Penciller/Inker, becoming only the second series (the first being Sandman) to win the Best Continuing Series award thrice (one could also count Swamp Thing, which won three Kirby awards for Best Continuing Series).

Hiatus

In August 2018, Vaughan announced the series would go on an indefinite hiatus - saying it would be for at least one year - and "will look and feel entirely different when it returns."
