DC's characters were leaping off the printed page. In association with the toy company Kenner, DC released a line of toys called Super Powers, which included modern action figures of Superman, Batman, and many more heroes and villains. Realizing the sales potential of a comic book tie-in, DC soon debuted a five issue Super Powers miniseries plotted by comic book legend Jack Kirby, scripted by Joey Cavalieri and with pencils by Adrian Gonzales. "King" Kirby provided the covers for all five issues and even scripted and penciled the final installment of this effort, which went on to spawn a further two sequel miniseries.
