The Cabinet of Shadows is a group that feels there should be no interference. The gods should not interfere with their affairs and neither should demons. Thus, they seek to rid the world of this interference such that men may rule their own lives. In order to help accomplish this they have placed agents within the Durapasya and the Darinde: Aguntuk and Amara Gaelle, respectively.

Through their work Devi is now half human, Lord Bala has been led to mistrust his most faithful servant Iyam, and the source has been searched for while Bala has been caused to follow false leads regarding it.
