The Celestial Order of the Hai-Dai is an ancient order of ninjas who server under Zheng Zu (father of Shang-Chi). After his death, the organization was led by Zheng Zu's daughter, Zheng Bao Yu.
During the Spider-Island event, Shang-Chi trains Spider-Man at an old Hai-Dai training facility in Croton-on-Hudson, in Westchester County, New York.
According to the miniseries Shang-Chi (2020), The Celestial Order of the Hai-Dai is one of the names used by the Five Weapons Society founded by Zheng Zu and his brother Zheng Yi to defend China during the Qing Dynasty, after the Yi's death, Zu turned the Society into a criminal organization.
Creation
The Celestial Order of the Hai-Dai was a name created to replace the Celestial Order of the Si-Fan, created by writer Sax Rohmer for the literary series about the Chinese villain Dr. Fu Manchu. Currently, at the initiative of writer Gene Luen Yang, The Celestial Order of the Hai-Dai is considered one of the names of the Five Weapons Society.
