Thanos' Defenders
In the Holy War storyline, Thanos assembled his own team of Defenders to kidnap and dispose of various intergalactic Messiahs.

Thanos chose Geatar, Super-Skrull, Rhino, Nitro and Titanium Man to comprise his own team of Defenders.
It was shown Thanos also chose Venom, Juggernaut, Ultron, Apocalypse and Deathbird but for whatever reason they didn't appear in the storyline other than on Thanos' monitors.
Thanos abandoned the team and left them stranded on a distant planet after they had completed their mission for him. In the end, the real Defenders whom they had recently battled with (in this case Silver Surfer and Legacy) helped Rhino and Titanium Man return home.
