Origin

The S-Men is made up of people who have all suffered atrocities at the hands of mutants during their life, including those who have seen their families slaughtered by evil mutants. With the help of the Red Skull and Arnim Zola, these people have gone through lengthy and painful genetic alterations in order to gain the powers they now possess. Their goal is to get rid of all mutants.

Creation

The S-Men were created by writer Rick Remender and artist John Cassaday. The team first appeared in Uncanny Avengers #1.

Major Story Arcs

Uncanny Avengers

The S-Men arrived at Charles Xavier's grave and kidnapped the mourning Rogue and Scarlet Witch. They also took with them the deceased body of Professor X. Upon receiving the body, The Red Skull removed a part of Xavier's brain and managed to merge it with his own thus gaining Xavier's powers. Red Skull and the S-Men then launched an attack on Manhattan where Red Skull used his mind control powers to force all humans to start killing mutants. A bloody massacre followed but the S-Men were eventually stopped by the Uncanny Avengers.
