Origin

A peaceful race, the planet of Korbin was destroyed by Surtur. They soon found a new planet and dubbed it New Korbin. They chose to create a protector for their people. Thier first attempt was biomechanical creation called Alpha Ray who soon grew beyond their control and was placed in stasis.

On the next attempt, they used cybernetics to create Beta Ray Bill, one who would be worthy of Thor's hammer Mjolnir and even receive an enchanded mallet of his own. Along with the sentient ship Skuttlebutt, they discovered a suitable world they dubbed New Korbin.

Many Korbinites were enslaved and killed in the Cauldron of Coversion by Sidereus and Lord Votan of the Axi-Tun. New Korbin was eventually consumed by Galactus. Many of the Korbinites were saved within the Meta-Orb. But the evil Asteroth hid herself within the Orb and absorbed the Korbinite's essence to become Omega Ray, leaving Bill the last of his kind.

Bill went on a mission of vengeance against Galactus but ultimately ended up saving the world devourer's life. In return, Galactus was able to gather the faintest hint of Korbinite essence to resurrect a female Korbinite, Ti Asha Ra, so that the Korbinite race might live on.

Other Media

The Korbinites were portrayed in the Silver Surfer Animated Series, although they were called the Whynnm and resided on the planet Harmony. All members of the race had the horse-like apperance of Beta Ray Bill.

They were a Utopian society, but their society was built on the illusion they created in the Dream Weaver. The Silver Surfer convinced them to destroy the device and return to reality, rebuild and protect themselves from the evil Thanos.
