Origin
Leaving Utopia after the events of Schism, Wolverine opened a new school in place of the old Xavier Institute, dedicated to Jean Grey and teaching the young mutants in the ways of Charles Xavier.
Along with his Headmistress, Kitty Pryde, Logan recruited many of his mutant friends to staff the school including: Beast, Iceman and Rachel Grey. The students came as a mix of troubled teens from Utopia, such as Quentin Quire, and the children of alien races, including Broo and Kid Gladiator.
Creation
The Jean Grey School's members first appeared in Wolverine & the X-Men #1, created by Jason Aaron and Chris Bachalo.
