When the Earth began to die in the year 2509, the New Defenders formed a plan to rescue the population and take them back in time. Without any life on Earth, Gaea went insane.  
 
To get her people back, Gaea took some female heroes from their most mentally insane parts of their lives and manipulated them into fighting for her. She had them face the Fantastic Force, the newly renamed New Defenders.  
 
When the Scarlet Witch took the gamma radiation from Hulk Jr., his intellect grew greatly and he was able to send them back to their own time. As for Gaea, Wolverine stayed on the dying Earth with her to father her child and give her sanity back.
