History

The Green Flames were originally group of thugs that were supplied with Dr. Maynac's extreme cold "green flame" technology in order to bring New York City to it's knees. Maynacs ransom demands brought the Green Flames into conflict with the Human Torch. Although the Green Flames suits were lined with asbestos, Jim Hammond proved too powerful and the Flames were easily defeated, foiling Dr. Maynac's plans.

Dr. Maynac would put together a second group of Green Flames in the spring of 1941. This time Maynac would be supported by the Nazis who would force the robotics expert Prof. Philo Zogolowski to work with him. The two would create a robotic army of Green Flames that brought them into conflict with Jim Hammond once again, as well as the Sub-Mariner, Betty Dean, Angel, and the Ferret. Dr. Maynac was killed and all the Green Flames were seemingly destroyed in the ensuing battle.

Weapons & Paraphernalia

The original Green Flames all wore special asbestos lined suits that also allowed them to fly and emit super-cold "green flame".
