Origin
A type of demon, the exact origins of the incubi are unclear. The male counterpart of the female succubi, they are typically seen to sexually prey upon human women as a means of deriving power.
Creation
Incubi are mythological beings, stories about which date back to ca. 2400 BC. They are believed to be a supernatural explanation for common sleep experiences, such as sleep paralysis and hypnagogia.
Team Evolution
In their earliest stories, incubi are described as laying upon human women to have sex with them, in order to produce children; these unions, if they occur frequently, result in illness and eventually death for the woman. These stories have since spread and changed, with various attributes, powers, and goals associated with the incubi throughout different forms of media. They are typically associated with sleep, debauchery, and danger.
