Creation

The Zen-Men are pastiche characteres created as parodies to Marvel 's X-men and inhabitans ofthe world of earth 8 aka Angor. They were rebranded as G-Men in Multiversity but recently returned to their original status.

History

Countdown presents Lord Havok

The team formed by Dr. Diehard in earth-8 was in direct opposition to the Metahuman Act. When the Meta Militia attacked the Zen Men school to arrest their leader, Dr. Leckter choose surrender himself to prevent any bloodbath. But this action don't prevent than most of the Zen Men ended in concentration camps, meanwhile some of their members defected for the Meta Militia.

After they run away, a new complex of the Academy for Advanced Children was built in West Germany, where Dr. Diehard formed a new team of Zen Men under training. All them would die in a unexpected attack of the Meta Militia, ordened by Americommando.

Multiversity

In the pages of Grant Morrison's Multiversity, the Zen Men are now called the G-Men (Geno-Men, not to be confused with "Government Men"), a group of neo-humans. They helped to fight against the Gentry forces invading their world, alongside with the Bug and the Future Family.

Flash Forward

The Zen Men returned to their pre-flashpoint status and appearance in Flash Forward. They appeared in a team up with the Retaliators when a strange dark matter infected their universe. That matter transported them to earth 23 where they fought against the Flash before discover he was not their enemy. After Flash helped them they returned to their world.

The return to their previous status has been not explained.
