This group of magic based heroes was founded by Alan Scott, Phantom Stranger, Raven, Zatanna, Hector Hall, Blue Devil, Deadman, Dr. Occult, Ragman, Tempest, Billy Batson, Mary Marvel, Bloodwynd, Madame Xanadu, and Sebastian Faust.
They were initially deciding the fate of the Spear of Destiny, which was thrown into the sun. They also helped Hal Jordan leave purgatory and become the new and short lived host of the Spectre.
