Pacifiers are armored warriors from the dark world of Apokolips that are deployed by shock troopers with the express purpose of enforcing order. They were armed with an atomic flame and had a great deal of strength to the point that they could combat a powered Kryptonian. At least one had a Glommer inside that are equably dangerous as the psychic parasites can attack their foes once the armor has been breached. When Superman was transported to Apokolips by Darkseid, he encountered shock troopers terrorizing citizens. This led to Kal-El confronting them whereupon they summoned a Pacifier with a hypersonic whistle. At the site, the Pacifier managed to smash Superman into a building but Kal-El retaliated by ripping the warriors armor. However, the Glommer inside emerged and attached itself to Superman and flew his body into a Firepit with the intention of killing him.
