Origin

The Ancient Ones rules on many places of raw magic. Many mystic worlds have filled their space, living and dying in turn. Each world has had its shinning moment, and when it passed, this space was enriched with its magical essence. That essence sustains their masters.

Concerning the Gemworld, they once had a deal with Citrina. The Gemworld will endure only so long as her. But they broke the pact. They had not realized how long Citrina's natural lifespan would be and they became frustrated. They began trying to undermine the Gemworld to do things that would put so much stress on Citrina that it would hasten her aging (with Dark Opal, Fire Jade).

Because the Ancient Ones did not take their word, Citrina was justified in passing the lifeforce of the Gemworld to Amethyst, to make sure that the Gemworld lives on.
