Peter Gross started working as an illustrator in the comics field during the 1990's.

He pencilled series like Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme and Hellstorm: Prince of Lies for Marvel, however most of his work has been for DC's Vertigo imprint. He was the artist for several issues of The Books of Magic but was probably best known for illustrating Vertigo's Lucifer. Currently, he is the artist on Vertigo's biggest hit of 2009, The Unwritten, authored by Lucifer teammate, Mike Carey.

Gross has also worked on Dark Horse titles like Chosen with Mark Millar and The Mask: The Hunt for Green October.
