Rozum was hired by his friend Dwayne McDuffie at Milestone Comics, there he created Xombi and Kobalt. About a year later he joined Topps and created X-Files. In 2010, John was given the opportunity to revive Xombi in the DC Universe and as of the September DC relaunch, Rozum was writing the new Static Shock title. After four issues, he quit writing the series due to creative differences with Scott McDaniel.
