Claire Wending is a French illustrator best known for her dynamic animal drawings and character designs; however, she also has figure drawings and landscapes.

Frank Frazetta seems to be an influence, particularly in her handling of massive forms and dynamic poses.

Wendling grew up closer to animals than other children which may have influenced her art.

She did some character design work for the Warner Brother's 1998 animated movie, Quest for Camelot.
