Thor first wore the armor when Loki kidnapped X-Factor's Iceman and he subsequently wore it in battles against Hela, the Gods of Olympus, Mephisto, the X-Men, the Celestials, and the Black Galaxy. It was eventually possessed by Loki during Acts of Vengeance which resulted in Thor having to exorcize and destroy the armor with help from Doctor Strange.
The armor was designed by Walt Simonson.
