The Satori is a man made mobile city created for the enlightened. Scientists, poets and other intellectuals gathered and live in the Satori in the hope of creating a Utopia on Earth and across the universe. They are lead by Alexei Ganger.
They believed that the Silver Surfer was their Cosmic or Galactic Messiah and built a shrine to him and worshiped him. When the Silver Surfer finally arrived he was angered that they would worship him. He refused to lead them.
But Ganger enlisted the help of Phillip Masters, the Puppet Master, to mold him a new Cosmic Messiah. He eventually left the Earth, and the believers were left to find a new way to make peace on Earth.
