The Power Gem is a set of six gems that were left over from a God from the previous universe. When all six gems are brought together they created The Infinity Gauntlet, allowing the wielder to gain the powers of a God. The power Gem by itself gives the user greatly amped strength and durability. The Gem was wielded by The Stranger then The Elder named Champion. The Champion though barely knew how to use it and was ultimately defeated by Thanos who gained control of the Gem during Thano's Quest. After the Infinity Gauntlet, Drax the Destroyer became the holder of the Gem. It is now currently in the hands of Namor.

The power gem allows the user to potentially manipulate all the power and energy in the universe that has, or ever will exist. The Power Gem augments the users physical attributes, such as strength and durability, to near infinite levels, and with mastery can allow the user to mimic the effects of energy based superpowers. Full mastery would see the user become invincible in terms of brute power. When combined with the other infinity gems the power gem greatly enhances their effects. It can also be use as an unlimited power supply for any machine. Originally held by Champion until Thanos defeated him and took it from him during Thano's Quest.

Infinite Destinies

After the Infinity Wars event where Gamora attempted to combine the Infinity Gems, Adam Warlock used the Soul Gem to imbue all the gems with a sense of purpose. This way, they can choose their own destinies rather than became the pawn of another user. The Power Gem chose Prince of Power.

The Power Stone appears in the Season 2 opener, "The Arsenal," where it is revealed to have been stolen from Thanos by the Red Skull after the Mad Titan used it to obliterate a planet. After the Stone corrupts and nearly overtakes Captain America, the Avengers place it inside the Arsenal. Thanos returns to reclaim the Stone in "Thanos Rising," and the Arsenal ultimately overloads and self-destructs itself in order to destroy it.

The Power Stone is later recovered and used to assemble the Infinity Gauntlet.

The Power Stone

The Power Stone appears as a major plot point in the film, where it is found in the ruins of a desolate planet by Peter Quill. The Collector reveals that the Stone is one of the legendary Infinity Stones, which represent immensely powerful forces that existed before the birth of the universe. Thanos dispatches his daughters Gamora and Nebula to find the Power Stone, but Gamora ends up going rogue to keep the artifact out of her father's hands. Thanos subsequently makes a deal with Ronan the Accuser, who agrees to claim the Stone for Thanos in exchange for the destruction of Xandar. Ronan double crosses Thanos and instead steals the stone for himself, which he embeds in his hammer, the Universal Weapon.

In the climax of the film, the Guardians are able to steal away the Power Stone, and survive by relying on one another to help channel the energy. With the focused energy of the Stone, Star-Lord uses it to kill Ronan once and for all. The Stone is last seen in the possession of the Nova Corps, who place it into storage.

Avengers: Infinity War

In the opening of the film, the Power Stone is revealed to already been obtained by Thanos. After slaying half of the Asgardians on the Statesman, Thanos demands Loki to hand over the Tesseract containing the Space Stone or he will kill Thor. When Loki refuses, Thanos uses the Power Gem on Thor, torturing him, forcing Loki to hand over the Cube. After killing Loki for trying to double cross him, Thanos uses the Power Stone to make the Statesman collaspe, leaving Thor to die. He later uses the Stone's power against the heroes on Titan, notably using it to break Doctor Strange's Mirror Dimension, to crush Titan's moon, and deflect attacks from Iron Man's suit.

Avengers Endgame

Thanos uses the combined power of the stones to destroy them so that his work couldn't be undone. After Tony Stark perfects time travel, the surviving Avengers steal the stones from earlier in the timeline. War Machine and Nebula are sent to steal the Power Stone from the abandoned vault before Peter Quill can.

War Machine brings it to the present, where Hulk uses the combined powers to bring back the 50% of life Thanos wiped away.

Captain America returned the stone exactly where it was found in the timeline.
