AKA The Pentagon Armor I-B. Iron Man wore this suit during the final few months of the original Avengers team, when he was acting as the Secretary of Defense and the team was closely aligned with the United Nations.

Following the dissolution of the Avengers, Tony continued wearing the suit until it was badly damaged during a fight with the Extremis-powered terrorist known as Mallen. Tony subsequently injected himself with the serum and donned the more advanced Extremis Armor, officially making the Pentagon Armor I-A obsolete.
