IDW Continuity

In the IDW series, as in previous appearances of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the Turtles' Lair is found in the sewers of New York City, being the refuge of these mutants. It is the place from where Master Splinter, Donatello, Leonardo and Michelangelo, search for Raphael who was lost after his escape from Stock Gen fifteen months before, after meeting Raphael and helping him and Casey Jones to get rid of Old Hob's men. The Turtles and his father meet in this place to continue with their lives. From that moment, with the family reunited, the Turtles' Lair becomes their home and training place. Also, it is the place where Splinter explains to his four sons that all five are actually reincarnations of Hamato Yoshi and his sons, who were killed in feudal Japan centuries ago by the Shredder and the Foot Clan. After this, Baxter Stockman, who wants to recover the mutagen from the Turtles' blood, so he delivers an army of Mousers to Old Hob in order to recover the Turtles, either alive or dead. Old Hob, thanks to the Mousers, finds the home of the turtles, attacking them, kidnapping Splinter and, incidentally, destroying the Turtles' Lair. After recovering their father and thanks to the shelter that April O'Neil offers them, the turtles leave what was their home to move to a new place: the Church Lair, an abandoned church with a nuclear shelter below it where, to thereafter, the Hamato family will establish their second home.
