Tsuris is a planet overcome by war between the Goyimians and the Machovians. Moonshadow's squad lands there to be part of the fight. Moonshadow, at this time, still has a Romantic conception of war.

The squad arrive in their floating bubbles, but they crash-land and Horntoad is hurt and stays there. Moonshadow, Ira, and Rigarollo move on, but end up right in the middle of the war. Moon is shot, but the G'L-Doses intervene. After a hallucination in which he sees his namesake, Moonshadow the Elder, Moon finds a nearly-dead Ira.

The whole squad ends up becoming prisoners of war in a camp on another planet run by Darkmeister Ebann. Moonshadow's childish conception of war has been popped and replaced with something altogether more brutal.

"Tsuris" is a Yiddish word meaning woe or troubles. Much of Moonshadow ties into his family's Judiasm.
