Overview

The Pacific Ocean is the largest ocean on Earth. It is separated into the North Pacific and South Pacific. In contains the deepest point in the world's oceans, the Marianas Trench. In Grimm Fairy Tales, the trench is the home of the Sea Witch. The ocean appeared often in the silver age in the stories of Adam Strange , as he would wait over top of the ocean for the Zeta Beam to strike him. A distinct portion of the Pacific Ocean is the South Pacific.

Due to prevailing currents in the ocean, a large patch of floating debris (mostly plastic) has accumulated in the middle of the Pacific Ocean which has come to be known as the Pacific Trash Vortex. In the series Great Pacific this garbage has become a mostly solid island and forms the interest of the main character.
