Indiana is the 19th state of the Union, admiited in 1816. It is the 38th largest state and the 16th most populated. It is well known for athletic events, particularly the Indianapolis 500-Mile Race. The Race has been held there since 1911 and has been among the most notable automobile races worldwide.
Indiana borders Michigan, Illinois, Kentucky and Ohio.
