The Godwheel is the place of origin of quite a few Ultraverse concepts, characters and significant items that predate that series. Post Black Spetember it has even been retconned as a place where both Rune of the Ultraverse and Adam Warlock of the main Marvel Universe lived in the distant past.

Described as a cosmic artifact of tremendous size, the Godwheel is a relatively flat disc that extends 400,000,000 miles (640,000,000 km) from the inner hole to the outer rim, and the inner hole contains binary dwarf stars orbiting each other in a 30,000,000 mile gap. That means than the habitable area covers the same surface area as the orbit of Jupiter around the Sun.

The Godwheel contains many realms at the same time. Most of these realms are many times larger than the surface of the Earth, so often the individual realms are completely unaware of each other. The exact orgin of Godwheel is unknown to their inhabitants. The Gods of Vahdala, a nation inside the Godwheel, were its caretakers for some time.Innumerable billions of entities live on the wheel's surface, and multiple other planetary bodies are seen 'around' the Godwheel. Structurally, the wheel can be considered similar to an Alderson disk.

Most stories in the Ultraverse stem from the Godwheel in some way. Topaz of Ultraforce, Lord Pumpkin and the addictive Zuke plants, the alien half of the Solution, and many others originated in one of the Godwheel's many realms. The triploid genetic strands used by Doc Gross to turn Kevin Green into Prime also came from the Godwheel. Finally, the so-called "Entity on the Moon" responsible for sending out Jumpstarts that created Ultras on Earth since the dawn of mankind also originated from the Godwheel.

Must be noted than meanwhile one side of the Godwheel is ruled by magic (a rocky realm of cliffs and forests is called 'Aerwa' is said to be the source of all magic) the other side is a scientific miracle. Even the underside of the Godwheel is inhabited; it is called Techtopia and is filled with all manner of machinery and life. A spot at the base of the inner rim is seen, within which is an inhabited primitive village heated by firepits.
