Brief History

No Caption Provided

The Gem Theater was a movie theater right in the middle of New York City. It became famous because Luke Cage rented a 3rd story apartment at the Gem Theater for a number of years and also used it as his office. The Gem Theater is located on 42nd Street near Times Square, one of the seedier areas of Manhattan. A comical returning gag was the problems that Luke always had with the coffee-machine inside the GEM theater. The machine seemed to have a life of it's own. No matter how he tried to use or repair the machine, it kept giving the wrong drinks, spilled coffee on people's clothes, or the coffee came out the machine without a cup. Luke Cage left the theater a number of years ago, but it has recently been used again as base of the new "Mighty Avengers'' team that is lead by Luke Cage.
