The story opens in The Madison's, Rose Wilson's adopted parents home. Their quiet dinner is interupted by WadeDeFarge, Deathstroke's half-brother. He kills The Madisons, leaving Rose to fend for herself. The Teen Titans arrive shortly after, and they start to fight. The battle is cut short as an arrow filled with toxic gas is shot through the window. Rose disappears, where she finds Deathstroke. He wants Rose to kill Wade. She does so, and Deathstroke smiles.
