Overview
Summoning is an idea and act that generally centers around individuals, calling upon some sort of entity to appear and assist the individual. It is a trope that appears in many different kinds of fiction and story, with variations unique to respective stories and franchises. There are no hard set rules, but some common and consistent themes, include individuals using magic, the entities being magical, entities being based in mythology or lore, and the entities appearance and assistance being temporary. The ability to summon and summoning itself is generally regarded as quite powerful.
