"Ghost" is an over arching term that can apply to any number of entities, feelings or sensations. The ghost in question may be benign or malevolent and maybe referred to by any number of differing names, some implying the ghost is either threatening or non-threatening. Ghosts in popular culture often are in some way the manifestation of a once living creatures soul following its death. They may be heralded by sounds or sensations and once manifest may produce and leave ectoplasm following their departure.
