David Buckler is an astronaut. While being near planet Thyna, David's ship lost control and he crash-landed on the planet. The crash didn't kill him, but he was badly burned. Native aliens took his weak body is curiosity. They wanted to learn more about the human-alien. But David was dying, so in final effort to save him, they transplanted his brain into a reserve body of their own race.

Eight months later David's wife Brenda came to the same planet looking for him with two companions. David recognized his wife, and grabbed her, but his new form was frightening and they couldn't communicate. One of her companions started shooting David, so he attacked and killed him. David went after Brenda and saw how the second man hurt Brenda, so David attacked him too. since his new body needed sustenance, he ate the man. Brenda tried to run away, but David caught her and lift her into air. To gain her trust, David placed her back on the ground, and while still holding her lead her to alien city. With a psycho-dome David showed the alien recordings of his memories to Brenda. Brenda accepted David in his new form, and they stayed on planet Thyna.
