Origin 

Brad Wolfe was a fairly typical human, save for harboring misogynistic attitudes and views. Such feelings had developed due to abuse he had received from his mother at an early age. Hating her, he irrationally projected these feelings towards all woman. An actor, one of the roles he was starring as, was as a serial killer in a slasher movie. He was the Zaniac. At some point in his life, Wolfe was possessed by a mystical creature created by the dark being Dormammu centuries earlier. This creature possessing would simulate and amplify a type of blood lust in its host, and it especially liked to prey on misogynists. The English serial killer known by some as Jack the Ripper who terrorized White Chapel in the 1880's was actually the first of many inhabited by this creature. After an explosion near a toxic area, Brad Wolfe mutated into a hulking mass, and spurned on by the 'Ripper creature' and his part as the fictional Zaniac, his psychotic mind made himself believe he was Zaniac. Wanting to follow in the fictional Zaniac's path in killing woman, he set out to do so. Happening to target a female who was an associate of the thunder god Thor however brought Zaniac into conflict with the Asgardian. Zaniac was soundly defeated. Zaniac was especially obsessed with attractive woman, greatly increasing Wolfe's preexisting misogynistic attitude and hateful urges.       
 

Creation

Zaniac is a Marvel comics character created by Doug Moench and Keith Pollard. Zaniac first appears in Thor #372.  
 

Powers and Abilities

Zaniac possesses superhuman strength that allows him to lift in excess of 75 tons. Also possessing superhuman durability, and resistance to injury, physical, or extreme temperatures. Zaniac also had the ability to create and disperse radioactive knife like projectiles at great speed.
