Brief History

The early life and rise to criminal power by Elaine McLaughlin is undocumented. She was recruited to be Virgo in Cornelius Van Lunt's Zodiac crime cartel, in which each member would adopt the guise of a different sign of the zodiac, and control a territory in a different American city. Virgo controlled operations in Denver, Colorado. Members of Zodiac were equipped with state-of-the-art weaponry and their ultimate goal was global domination. However, their bids for power were most often foiled by the Avengers. Virgo was incarcerated after a failed campaign by Zodiac to kill all of the Geminis in Manhattan. Later, a rogue Zodiac faction led by former cartel member Scorpio and using androids to represent the twelve astrological symbols targeted the original Zodiac leaders for death. In the end, Virgo was apparently slain by her LMD [Life Model Decoy] counterpart.

However, recently during The War of the Realms, McLaughlin reappeared, having organized "HenchFest" for henchfolk to come together at the Sterling Hotel & Casino in Carson City, Nevada.
