The mutant known as The Siren lived in Mutant Town with her husband Jake. Jake had become aware of his wife's ability to drive men crazy and realized he had no real free will in the relationship and as a result had tied her to a radiator and gagged her mouth.
NYPD officers Gus Kucharsky and Ismael Ortega were responding to reports of a domestic disturbance involving the couple and Kucharsky was taken control of by Siren who had him shoot her, her husband and himself (the latter averted by Ortega).
