Susan Austin was a close friend of Eric Masterson. During a battle between Thor and Loki, Loki wanted to hurt Thor so he shot a bolt toward Kevin Masterson and his mother. The Enchantress appeared to Susan to warn her of the upcoming danger, and Susan pushed the mother and child away and took the brunt of the blast. She died a hero.
