Ulysses Abboud was diagnosed with an incurable glandular anomaly early in his life. The older he got, the weaker he became until eventually his muscles were no longer able to support him. Due to his disability, he was made fun of and treated as a cripple. Mentally a genius, Ulysses' papers on genetics was beyond the understanding of the most brilliant geneticists who thought him to be insane. Ulysses grew to hate all people and built the robotic armour of Supremus to sheath his frail body and make him a giant God.

Supremus was create by writer Ernie Hart and first appeared in "Thus Speaks Supremus!" in 1969.
