In reality-712 after the destruction of his home world by Galactus Skymax wandered the cosmos for a suitable planet to settle on. When his ship malfunctioned near Earth he was rescued by an astronaut who he rewarded with a Skrullian Power Prism allowing him to become the superhero Dr. Spectrum. He then joined with other heroes to form the Squadron Supreme. When he isn't busy being a superhero he spends his time in the guise of a librarian named James Doe where investigating claims of alien UFO sightings in the hopes he will find more Skrull survivors like himself but he has yet to find anything. After an attempt to fix his ship failed to make it space worthy he opted to secluded himself away making his teammates believe he left Earth.

Years later with the Squadron trapped in the 616 universe he was found by Nighthawk living full time in his James Doe identity having given up his search for others like him, having come to except he is the last of his kind. He was convinced to rejoin his teammates with the promis they would help him find in his search and making this his home.

Powers & Abilities

Like most Skrulls, Skymax is a shape-changer and can take any shape he desires, which allows him to perfectly impersonate individuals. Unlike most Skrulls he went through the Super-Skull program giving him a few abilities that surpass that of the average Skrull, most notably used by the Fantastic Four, with the exception that Skymax can use all of the team's abilities. Among those abilities are super strength, durability and flight as well as becoming invisible and having the ability to project flames from his body, particularly his fists.
