Early Life

Robbie Dean Tomlin had a tough life, his parents struggled by in constant debt and unemployment, plus domestic violence, leaving him unattended. He grew up in front of a TV. With low grades in high school and inability to pay for university, he turned to stealing cars in order to pay rent. However, he got himself caught.

While imprisoned, Robbie fell in with a gang of Neo-Nazis in order to survive in jail. Once he was released, his probation office got him a retail job, but the ensuing financial crisis caused him to lose his job. His life spiraled out of control, Robbie turned to drugs, and even he found a lover, she died due to drug addiction. After that, he struggled to get clean, starting with 12-step programs. He eventually fell off the wagon when his old cellmate invited him to the meeting of an orator who promised to make the country great again.

HYDRA

The speaker of the meeting was none of ther than the Red Skull, whose speech convinced Robbie and all other assistants to join HYDRA, enchanted by a sense of belonging. While he supported Hydra, Robbie became reluctant after witnessing fellow members brutalize and kill an old black man just for the color of his skin.

He was later enlisted to a mission as a suicide bomber. Robbie and other Hydra operatives hijacked a train and directed it to Penn Station. A S.H.I.E.L.D. hacker managed to take control of the train, rerouting it away from the station and detaching it from the cockpit where Robbie was. After subduing the other Hydra operatives, Captain America tried to reach out to Robbie, but the young man detonated his explosive vest, killing himself and destroying part of the train.
