On Spartak, planet of the Acroyears, an albino child was a omen of disaster. Shaitan was this child and as predicted he betrayed his brother, prince Acroyear by serving Karza, the tyrant of the Microverse.

Prince Shaitan was originally based off the Acroyear II action figure of the Mego Micronauts line originally released in 1977. The Acroyear II figure is actually a remake of the earlier Acroyear design by Takara toys for their Microman line.
The character of prince Shaitan was greatly expanded upon for Marvel's Micronauts comic by series creators Bill Mantlo and Michael Golden.
