Brief History

The mutant only known as Preacher was able to see visions of the future. One of these visions turned out to be the Age of Apocalypse. Preacher, afraid that this would truly be humankind's fate, allied himself with the anti-mutant Humanity's Last Stand party in hope of preventing this future (not even knowing that he himself was a mutant). While with Humanity's Last Stand, he met and fell in love with the X-man Cannonball's sister Joelle Guthrie. The two where loyal followers for some time. The council of Humanity's Last Stand already knew Preacher to be a mutant, but found his visions of to great importance to just outright kill him. Everything seemed to go right, until Preach found out the true nature of the organization when the X-men tried to intervene and save Joelle. Joelle's sister Page Guthry (also known as Generation X's Husk) was nearly beaten to death. Seeing this happen, Preacher saw the organization for what it was and fled with Joelle, with a little help from the X-men. Although Joelle returned to her home, Preacher remained on the run. Fearing and knowing that Humanity's Last Stand was right behind him in hope of capturing him and using his visions.

A few months later, Preacher again came into contact with other mutants, this time with X-men Storm and Bishop and X-Factor's Shard and Wild Child. He told them of a future he saw and was hoping to prevent it again. His visions foresaw Humanity's Last Stand sending a mutant hunter to try and kill them. Thanks to Preacher, the X-men knew how to deal with the situation and all was resolved. Preacher went his own way and has not been heard from since.
