Origin

An original member of the Grapplers, a group of female mercenaries who posed as wrestlers, Poundcakes was renowned for her massive legs. Her weapon of choice was a pair of "Seismic Boots," which enabled her to create tremors and earthquakes by stomping the ground. They proved useful in her first major battle with the Grapplers, as they fought Goliath and Quasar. However, the Grapplers were eventually defeated and imprisoned after they attempted to vandalize Project: PEGASUS.

Creation

Poundcakes was created by Mark Gruenwald and Ralph Macchio, and first appeared in Marvel Two-In-One #54, August 1979.

In prison, Poundcakes and the other Grapplers were leaders of the women's wing. They captured Dazzler in attempt to initiate her into the Grapplers, but Dazzler used Songbird's powers against the Grapplers, knocking them all unconscious. However, before Dazzler defeats them they give her quite a scare. They soon broke out of prison and planned to murder the Thing, but they were stopped by Captain America and the X-Men.

After the Grapplers merged with the Unlimited Class Wrestling Federation, Poundcakes and her teammates received a major strength upgrade from the Power Broker. They once again battled the Thing after he was accused of murdering Poundcakes's teammate, Titania. When another Grappler, Letha, was murdered by the Scourge as well, Poundcakes became a freelance mercenary. During Captain America's date with Diamondback, Poundcakes created a commotion when another super-villain, Jackhammer, attempted to romance her. She was quickly defeated by Anaconda and the Asp.

The Femizons

Later, Poundcakes joined the Femizons under Superia's command. After the group disbanded, Poundcakes was last seen selling goods to renegade Atlanteans. U.S.Agent attempted to stop her, but failed, though the Avengers were later able to apprehend her and take her into custody. Afterwards, she was seen among several other super-villains at The Bar With No Name where she frequently battled Spider-Man.

Brand New Day

Poundcakes is hanging out at the Bar With No Name with other villains when a low-life baddie named the Basher calls out Spider-Man on a website. A man called the Bookie begins to take bets on the fight and a number of shady patrons become angry when they realize the Spider-Man that fights the Basher is an imposter. However, the real Spider-Man shows up and discovers that the imposter is the woman known as Screwball. She tells Spider-Man that the Bookie could be found at the villain bar hangout. Spider-Man shows up and a brief scuffle occurs. The bartender stops the fight and Spider-Man leaves when he gets the information he needs on the Bookie.

Fear Itself

Recently, Poundcakes has joined back up with Letha and Titania (now called Lascivious) in the Grapplers. They recruited a young runaway to modify into their new Screaming Mimi, hoping to catch the attention of their former teammate, Songbird. After it succeeded, Poundcakes and the Grapplers attacked, but were subsequently defeated by Songbird.

Powers and Abilities

Her strength, durability and reflexes are enhanced to super-human levels. Poundcakes is also a skilled wrestler and street-savvy.

Her seismic boots enable her to create small (localized) earth tremors that are strong enough to flip a small car.
