A scientist who appeared in "Tales to Astonish #13" (the first appearance of Groot) and was the first character to see Groot as the aforementioned character consumed wood. He was also the one to destroy Groot by unleashing termites on the alien from Planet X, who then prompty killed Groot.

Evans is a caucasian human male in his 40s or 50s. He commonly wears a beige trench coat and a beige fedora. He has short dark hair with a part down the middle, and is always seen wearing glasses. In some panels he is seen wearing a white long-sleeved shirt and a black tie

Relationships

Leslie Evans is in a relationship with a blonde woman named Alice, although whether she is his wife or girlfriend isn't made clear.

He is on tense terms with the local sheriff George Carter, since Alice thinks of him as a "Nice Guy".
