Jimmy's father, known as 'Slugger' Solokowski, once asked the Thing to talk to Jimmy because he thought he was on drugs. Thing agreed and soon found a plot by Doctor Doom which involved kidnapping drug addicts and experimenting on them to find a cure for drug addiction. His plot foiled, he blamed Thing for making him turn his attentions elsewhere.
