Hightail first appears in Miles Morales: Spider-Man (2022) #6 by Cody Ziglar and Federico Vincentini

Carnage Reigns

As part of a prisoner release program, Hightail joined a anti-superhuman task force called the Cape Killers under Agent Gao. They are called into action when Cletus Kasady uses the Extrembiote, a combination of a symbiote dragon and the extremis virus, to turn New Yorkers into his puppets. They find themselves allied with Spider-Man (Morales) and the new Red Goblin (Normie Osborn), who can absorb symbiotes.

Unfortunately, their combined might was still not enough to take on Cletus. The rest of Hightail's team were taken out, leaving her as Miles' only back up until Iron Man arrived to help them. Reunited with Scorpion and joined by the new Red Goblin, Hightail and the others kept a bunch of Carnage zombies busy while Iron Man rigged an EMP to take out the Extrembiote Cletus was possessing.

Bad Blood

After Miles earned some time from Agent Gao for helping with Carnage, Gao instructed Hightail to stick on Miles and keep him under observation. Miles figured her out and decided to loose her. Embarrassed that Miles got the best of her, she finally tracked him down to the subway, where he was hunting vampires with Blade and Bloodline. She interrupted them during an incantation to magically trap an energy vampire named R'ym'r. This gave R'ym'r the opportunity to escape but not before he infected Hightail, turning her into one of his soldiers.

As a superhuman, Hightails connection to the master vamp gave him a superhuman boost. Bri and Blade did their best to fight him off while Miles attempts to stop Hightail. When convincing her to give in doesn't work, Miles overloads her with a venom blast knocking her unconscious. With the master vamp's power levels dropping exponentially without Hightail, the trio are able to trap him in the magical vessel, curing all his goons, including Hightail.

Gang War

When Hammerhead incited a gang war hoping the gangs would take each other out and the Maggia could swoop in and take over the city, Agent Gao sent the Cape Killers into the field to keep the peace in Brooklyn with Hightail leading this assignment. Frost Pharaoh and The Bumbler were leading gangs against each other, and they have already gotten the attention of Miles Morales. Because Miles was deputized by the mayor, the Cape Killers couldn't arrest him, so they reluctantly worked with him.

Hightail was pulled out of the field to escort prisoners back to base, while the rest of the team continued to work with Miles.

Retribution

In the wake of the gang war, the anti-vigilant law is repealed, effectively ending the Cape-Killers. While the wheels of bureaucracy spin, Gao gets the most out of her Cape Killers while she can. After a successful mission against a power stealer named Snatcher, Gao breaks the news to the Cape Killers that the program is being shut down and they might not get credit toward their sentence for their service. She promises to commute their sentence if they help her with a final mission: take down Spider-Man (Miles Morales).

Gao enters a reluctant deal with Rabble, allowing her to upgrade herself, Hightail, and the others. This armor should give them an edge over Spider-Man, who has managed to best them every time. Unfortunately, this armor also allows Gao to remote control the Cape Killers. When they still couldn't take out Miles, Gao took control of them and pushed them further then they could stand. Hightail cooperated anyway, but Rabble started to push her too far to force Miles' hand. Miles gets some last minute help from his friends, including Rhino and his uncle, Prowler. They keep the Cape Killers busy while he goes after Rabble so he can free them from Rabble's control.

Cape Killer, Gust proved most formidable when her armor forced her air aerokinesis to pull the breathable air from both the heroes and her teammates. Thankfully, Miles shut down Rabble's control over the Cape Killers in the nick of time.

Blood Hunt

When the vampire cult, The Structure, fills the sky with darkforce as part of their plan for world domination, Hightail starts to feel the pull of R'ym'r once again. His energy vampires were able to steal the relic he was banished too, so she sought out Miles Morales. Despite Miles being turned into a vampire, he was in the right state of mind thanks to Doctor Strange. Together, they teamed up to look for R'ym'r's minions. Unfortunately, they were too late. R'ym'r was freed.
