Origin
One night, when he was 4 or 5, Germān's parents woke to unnatural sounds coming from Germān's room. He had manifested a green energy jaguar. His father believed him to be a Nahual, a being from Mexican folklore that could transform into an animal or become half-man/half-animal. As he learned to control his powers, he realized it was more like letting his animal side loose as an animorphic astral projection.
Creation
Germān debuted in Avengers #30 (2020) by Skottie Young and Francesco Manna.

Germān was part of a group of students that were using mathematics to decipher ancient texts and better understand magic. Impressed, Zelma Stanton had surprised them with a field trip to New York City where they will compete in the Multiversal Math Bowl. This year, it was being held at Brooklyn Visions Academy. In addition to Shaylee, the team consisted of: Doyle, Guslaug, Shaylee, and Toth. Once there, they get to meet Dr. Erasmus Dawnbright, aka Equation, the leading expert on "enchantimatics," the math of magic, and fairyworld exile. Between defending him from a fairy posse with the help of Spider-Man and both Earth schools getting first and second in the math bowl, Strange Academy made quite the impression on Equation. He has an important project he was looking to recruit for, and he believed Doyle and Shaylee were the two for the job.
Unfortunately, Zelma thought that was a bad idea, so Equation decided to trap her in his mathematics book. Same with Toth, Germān, and Guslaug who had figured out that Equation faked the fairy raid to test the participants. Doyle and Shaylee were none the wiser, but thankfully, Germān was able to get an astral projection to Spider-Man to ask for help. He led Spidey back to the book so that he could free his teacher and classmates, while Germān stayed within the book in case they needed to access it again.
The opportunity to do so came when a mind-controlled Shaylee attempted to recover the book for Equation. The students were able to free her from Equations thrall, but she pretended to return the book strategically. When Equation attempted to open it, Germān attacked, bringing Equation and his classmates into the book, where they could overwhelm him with their own math equations.
Blood Hunt
When the vampire cult, The Structure, flooded the sky with darkforce energy in a bid for world domination, Voodoo recalled all the students back to campus, where he put up a protection spell. A scrappy group of students, including Germān, overheard him talking to the astral form of Doctor Strange. He needed Voodoo to go to Madripoor, where Strange had sensed the Darkhold, an ancient book that includes the Montessi Formula, which would eradicate all vampires. Voodoo refused, but the eavesdropping students decided to take matters into their own hands When they teleport themselves to Madripoor, they find a young boy, the Darkhold made flesh.
Darkhold was already considering the Montessi Formula, however, the newly enrolled Pia revealed her vampiric nature when she attacked him. She was afraid of being destroyed with the formula. Her fellow students were shocked at first, but they ultimately agreed with her concern. They thought they could negotiate with Darkhold, since he genuinely wanted to save the world. Unfortunately, when their former professor, Agatha Harkness, showed up to take guardianship of Darkhold, he teleported away with Pia as his prisoner.
