Major Story Arcs

Carruthers was once a respected British explorer of Africa. However he accidentally claimed some territory that was rightfully due to another, and there was a scandal. He lost all his honor and privileges.

Seeking revenge, he stole a jewel from a local African tribe, led by Chief Baka, and used it to power a laser cannon. He brought it to England to destroy the Tower of London.

Uncomfortable in England, he actually rebuilds the inside of his house to look like a jungle and employed many Africans as aides.

However, the detectives Mandy Flynn, Salem Hawkshaw, and the alien Bozz find out and come to his house. He captures them and sets his men upon them, but Bozz defeats them with his superhuman strength.

In the meantime, the Colonel escapes in a hydrogen balloon, with the laser cannon in the basket. Bozz flies up to stop him. After dodging several attacks, he plugs his pistol with his finger. Carruthers fires anyway, destroying the gun, and partially blinding himself. He then starts taking shots with the laser, but hits and explodes the balloon, killing himself. Bozz, however, survives.
